Work in progress

I have been deconstructing an old work shirt and starting with the collar, trying to make it into something new. I get up early in order to see to the things that need doing in the house, before starting on the things I need to do for my work. Sometimes getting up early helps me be more organised and get through the list of things needed to be accomplished.

I have deliberately frayed this collar more, emphasising the elements that the collar is made up of. Then using a variation on Running stitch I embroidered the digital time and Star stitched around the inside of the collar too. The stars represent the fact my husband has just been promoted at work- he’s a rising star and they also look like flowers, as this is part of my routine every day - to tend to the garden.
